Posted Forms Data enables you to view the data that was posted by your forms. Whenever a user submits a form that you created, the data is logged here. You may opt to have the form data e-mailed to you but regardless, the data is available here.

Viewing Posted Form Data

To view Posted Form Data, you need to click on the option "Posted Form Data" on the administrative menu.



You will now see all of your articles. You will notice, if you have more than one form, that each form is grouped according to the page it was placed on. This is so you know what form is what.



Each entry here is one form submittal. In the screen capture above, there is only one. Note that this form was on the page "Feedback". The number before "Feedback" is my page refer. Other information available to you here is the date and time the form was submitted, along with the IP address of the computer the user was using when he/she submitted the form. The last column is "Verified." If this entry has been verified, it will show the date/time it was verified and by whom. The entry above was not verified. Verification is discussed in more detail in the next section.

If you click on the entry, you will be able to see detailed information on the posted form data. If you click on and entry the following is available.

At the top you can see the date the form was submitted, the time it was posted, and the IP address of the computer the user was using when they submitted the form. Here is what this looks like:



The next section, Form Data, is the actual data that was submitted. You will see your variable names along with the values the user entered/chose. Here is what this looks like:




Verifying Posted Form Data

The purpose of verifying Posted Form Data is to make sure someone has looked at it. If you have multiple people, or just yourself, looking at the posted form data, you need a way to tell if you have read it or not. Verifying gives you a way to say "hey, I've looked at this", and be able to save the entry and refer back to it. In short, it gives you a guarantee that you've seen it. To verify an entry you need to have clicked on it from your list. At the bottom of the entry, you will see something like the following:



You need to check the box labeled "Information has been verified", then click the "Save" button. The form data is now verified. When you do this the entry will be updated on your main Posted Forms Data list. You will now see the date/time and by whom the entry was verified under the "Verified" column. This gives you an easy way to tell if an entry was verified.


Deleting Posted Form Data

To delete an entry, you simply have to go into that entry, then check the box labeled "You MUST check this box to Delete this Form Data." Then you need to click the SAVE button. The entry is now gone. There is no way to retrieve it again.
