This Site Feature allows you to create HELP articles for your visitors or administrators. You can create help topics for just about anything. Help topics support HTML, images, PDFs, CSS, Javascript, and plain text. Help topics also support groups.

Viewing Help Topics

To view your current Help Topics you need to click on the option "Help for Web site" on the administrative menu.



You will now see all of your Help Topics. If Groups were used, each Help Topic will list under the corresponding Group name.




Adding a Help Topic

To add a Help Topic, you need to click the ADD button at the top of the page. You will then be presented with several sections that will enable you to create your Help Topic. The following will walk through each section.

General:
This area contains several important pieces of information about your Help Topic.



  • Topic: This is the name of your Help Topic.
  • Group Description: If you created a group(s) for Help Topics you may choose it from the drop down menu.
  • Admin Help Only: This allows only administrators to view the Help Topic once logged in.
  • Sort Order: This allows you to sort your Help Topics in any order you choose. If left blank they are sorted in the order they are added.
Details:
This is the main content of your Help Topic. The use of HTML, CSS, Javascript, images, PDFs, and plain text are allowed.



Upload Images for Page Content (GIF, JPG, PNG):
This section allows you to upload images for your Help Topic. For specifics on how to use images, please see Using Images.



Upload PDF for Page:
This section enables you to upload PDFs for your Help Topic. For additional information on how to use PDFs on your site, please see Using PDFs.



Current Images:
This lists your current images.



Current PDFs:
This section shows your current PDF documents.




Deleting a Help Topic

To delete a Help Topic you need to check the box labeled "You MUST check this box first to Delete this Topic", then click the DELETE button. The Help Topic is now permanently deleted. The Help Topic CANNOT be recovered.




Finally, click the SAVE button at the bottom of the screen. Also remember at any time you may edit an existing Help Topic.
